This autumn, the Fondation is doubling up! Come and discover exhibitions by Issy Wood, a painter whose exhibition features over fifty works never before seen in France, and Akeem Smith, a sculptor and video artist celebrating the existence of other memories. Take advantage of free guided tours to discover the secrets behind the works, or spend some unforgettable family time at our not-to-be-missed Saturday Party! Also on the programme is the first screening in France of Cécile B. Evans’ latest film – made during a residency at the Fondation. There will also be time for a talk with writer and dancer Léa Rivière and feminist philosopher Camille Froidevaux-Metterie. Finally, our delicious Café-Restaurant Mātēr awaits you for a well-deserved gourmet break, as well as our Boutique to discover the selection of books echoing the programme. See you soon!
Issy Wood, Study For No
Akeem Smith, One last cry
from 18 October 2023 to 7 January 2024 (20 November for Akeem Smith)
The exhibition Study For No explores what lies dormant in refusal, in attempts at resistance and protest in the face of the orders and violence that weave their way through our daily lives. Using seduction, humour and cynicism, Issy Wood’s work is marked by the repetition of subjects in series.

Akeem Smith’s exhibition One last cry brings together a collection of objects, including VHS cassettes, rare photographs and clothing from various Afro-Caribbean communities linked to dancehall, a musical movement that emerged in Jamaica in the late 1970s.
