Two exhibitions to discover at the Fondation! Don’t miss the first retrospective in France of American artist Martine Syms, who is transforming the Fondation into a new kind of shop, and Mohamad Abdouni‘s solo exhibition, which takes a humorous and nostalgic look at his childhood in the Bekaa region of Lebanon. And to discover the secrets behind the works, take part in a free guided tour! Mark your calendars for Terre, our weekend-long ceramics market supporting independent creation. Also on the programme: a screening of the film The African Desperate by Martine Syms, a talk with Rémi Babinet and philosopher Emanuele Coccia, and the launch of a book on techno with electronic music specialist Jean-Yves Leloup. Last but not least, our delicious café-restaurant pluto awaits you for a gourmet break, as well as our Librairie to discover the selection of books echoing the programme and the series of limited editions by Martine Syms. With Total, her first retrospective in France, American artist Martine Syms invites visitors to enter a total work of art that looks at the “theater of the everyday”, the roles we play in it, and the surveillance mechanisms that control them.

For his exhibition Soft Skills, Mohamad Abdouni confronts his own history by returning to his native Bekaa region in Lebanon. Reviewing his archives while recalling the mythical and monstrous characters that populate his imagination, the artist re-examines his inclinations as a queer boy, and the impossible embodiment of norms of masculinity(s).
