This autumn, discover two exhibitions at the Fondation! Don’t miss the first retrospective in France of American artist Martine Syms, who transforms the Fondation into a new kind of store, and Mohamad Abdouni‘s solo exhibition, which takes a humorous and nostalgic look at his childhood in the Bekaa region of Lebanon. Take advantage of free guided tours to discover the secrets behind the works, or spend some unforgettable family time at our Super Kids Party! Also on the program: the launch of a capsule collection between Perks & Mini (PAM) and Martine Syms, an unmissable talk between poet and essayist Claudia Rankine and Martine Syms, a writing workshop with author Rébecca Chaillon, an exceptional concert by American composer Zsela and a screening of Martine Syms‘ film The African Desperate. And let’s not forget an encounter with Mohamad Abdouni to discuss the publication Soft Skills – How to Properly Sit on a Chair. Finally, our delicious café-restaurant pluto awaits you for a gourmet break, as does our Librairie to discover the selection of books echoing the program. See you soon at the Foundation!
Martine Syms, Total
Mohamad Abdouni, Soft Skills
from 16 October 2024
With Total, her first retrospective in France, American artist Martine Syms invites visitors to enter a total work of art that looks at the “theater of the everyday”, the roles we play in it, and the surveillance mechanisms that control them.

For his exhibition Soft Skills, Mohamad Abdouni confronts his own history by returning to his native Bekaa region in Lebanon. Reviewing his archives while recalling the mythical and monstrous characters that populate his imagination, the artist re-examines his inclinations as a queer boy, and the impossible embodiment of norms of masculinity(s).
